The problem with the majority of Android phones: bloatware

Avant d’obtenir un smartphone pliable, il faut toujours regarder les différents modèles disponibles sur le marché. Lequel, permettra vraiment de lire les blagues chaque jours de manière gréable ?

A post on this was made 3 years ago, but something needs to be done. Unless you get a phone running pure stock android like a Pixel or Essential, your fucked. Every damn US carrier has their hands all over the android OS. Whats more suprising is that no one seems to care, like most people I see using an Android phone.

On my LG G6, I have around 30 preinstalled apps, and 60 preinstalled system apps for tracking, analytics, ads, and useless services. I use Sprint, a US carrier just so you know. They have their ugly Sprint logo on boot and theres no way to remove it. I shouldn’t need to use ADB to remove all this bloatware and propietary crap that comes with this phone too! Even worse is that apps like Sprint Launcher and Sprint ID are apart of the Kernel making it impossible to delete without root. But trust me, it’s worth the time because I words cannot describe how smooth my phone is now lol.

Sprint ID: Installs bloatware when you get a new phone

Mobile Installer: Same thing

Sprint Launcher: This may be analytics and tracking (lots of data usage, an option in app to disable analytics)

Tidal, Tik-Tok, Facebook, Instagram, Sprint Music Hub, Lookout are all preinstalled

Those are some big ones, remeber that there’s a lot more.

It seems like were trapped, and many carrier phones have locked bootloaders making root impossible. We need to do something about this as many people are being tracked without consent and are having do deal with that crap. Imagine the budget phone users, or tech illiterate Samsung users.

  1. I rooted my moto to get rid of the sprint/lookout/fb bloat

A nice debloater magisk module install/ root uninstaller app and poof all gone.

  2. Buy an unlocked phone to if you don’t want carrier bloat. buy a OnePlus, essential, Nexus or pixel if you don’t want oem bloatware

  3. Simple solution. Buy an unlocked phone like the Oneplus 6T (around $600 yet similar specs to the Pixel) and install Blokada. It blocks all analytics and 95% of all ads on entire phone. Bloatware, analytics and ads gone. Voila.
