  1. Im loving the living daylights out of this phone! I thought the position of the fingerprint reader would be bothersome but it’s actually… not. Easy one-handed operation! I see no need for a telephoto lens or the other additions the S10e’s bigger siblings have bit the amount of power this thing packs is amazing. I’ve had an S6 edge + and an S7 before this so I’ve experienced having a large phone like the S10+ and decided that larger devices are not for me. I feel like the S10e is excellent for my tastes.

  2. I think the S10e is the perfect device for someone who doesn’t need the latest and greatest, doesn’t care about specific features (like ultrasonic FPS and 3rd camera), and just wants a solid phone that’s easy to hold/use while being (relatively) affordable.. aka it’s perfect for my girlfriend.

  3. Better than S10 imo. I love the flat display and idm the fingerprint scanner on the right since the phone is small. This makes the phone great for one handed use.

Battery is a bit small but the lower resolution and the small screen makes the phone good enough.

  4. My biggest issues with my S8:

    1. Lots of palm rejection issues with curved display.
    2. FP sensor on the back. There are times where I don’t want to have to pick up my phone to unlock it.

    My biggest worry about S10:

    * Size.

The only legitimate concern I have about the S10e is the bixby button, but I’ve learned to live with that on my S8 so that’s pretty much moot.

Unless Pixel 4 blows me away, it looks like the S10e will be my next phone.

e: I’m also worried about palm rejection on the S10

e2: Guys. I know you can remap bixby button. Stop telling me. I already said that I’ve learned to live with it.

  5. So I’m pretty sold on upgrading to this phone. Does anyone know if Samsung does bundled bonuses again after launch? I seem to recall them always giving away bonuses with preorders and then a few weeks later adding bonuses again to get more sales. Maybe I’m misremembering?

  6. I sold my macbook pro for a custom built PC 3 months ago. this month, I switched over the a S10+ from an iPhone XS Max. so far been using the S10 for two days, and im not sure if its just having a new phone and new experience, but sonfar digging this much more. Im happy i made this change.

ive been a diehard apple fan for years

  7. Really liking the S10e a lot. Great size for comfortable use, and that fingerprint sensor is great. Feels like such a relief to use a fingerprint that just works and fast. Used the S10+ for 3 days before selling it since was moving to S10e. My main reason to move down was the size but was not entirely happy with the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

  8. If it weren’t for the free Buds, I would have picked up this device as I think the flat screen with the almost consistent thin bezel all around (like iPhone X) looks better.

  9. Can anyone comment how useful the telephoto lens was on their S10? Only thing holding me back from the S10e tbh.

I know I’m comparing apples to oranges but I currently don’t have telephoto lens on my Sony A7… but the thought of carrying that huge lens around is daunting.

  10. Honestly this could have been my 2019 phone to replace my Pixel 3 but Samsung screwed up with the latest Exynos model. Anandtech and others have proven that is significantly worse than the Snapdragon in both performance and power efficiency. So for UK market, the value of the S10 series is hobbled by a subpar SOC. Doesn’t mean the phone is bad, still an improvement over last year’s phones (including Pixel 3), but it’s the principle that matters – Samsung is selling an inferior model over here for the same amount of money.

  11. This would be a perfect upgrade from my Pixel 2. Slightly smaller in size with a bigger screen, lovely design, headphone jack, wide angle, samsung pay.. thinking about it, it would be a significant upgrade

  12. This will be my next phone when my iPhone 7 craps it. I’m done with Apple. Yawn!

The price is much better for me than the full S10, and the features are not lacking.

That said, maybe the Pixel 3…

  13. Re: the name for this segment of the market.

I feel like Mkb is thinking about it from the wrong direction. This isn’t « premium midrange » this $600-$800 market segment is a **flagship** and anything more expensive than that is an **ultra flagship**

The difference being that what you pay the extra for in the latter is the looks and maybe some futuristic gimmick features.
