  1. Interesting. I thought the GS7 was done getting updates. Of course, for a lot of us, it still depends on carrier support. T-Mobile devices are on the Feb. 1, 2019 patch.

  2. I’m hoping Samsung will surprise us and offer pie on S7. They already offered it on the note FE with same hardware, so should be easy. And OnePlus is offering pie (currently beta) to OP3.

  3. Feel like I’m already there with my unlocked S8+. Have a tmobile Sim, still on December 1st security patch. Still seems so weird that I bought the phone straight from Samsung, am on Tmobile, but have to wait for Verizon to drop Pie so unlocked can finally get the update.

  4. I wonder if carrier versions get these updates. My S6 from AT&T has not recieved any updates since last year, eventhough other versions worldwide have recieved updates. What makes it worse is that all of the S6 have the same chipset so the Snapdragon vs Exynos excuse doesn’t apply.

  5. Meanwhile the Pixel 1 is getting monthly security updates AND Android Q.

In fact this fall the Pixel 1, 2, 3 and 4 will all be on the same operating system.

Samsung needs to do better for how many Galaxy phones are out in the wild.
