  1. As the SVP of Android (one step below CEO), Lockheimer is the highest ranking Android Team member and can basically get any phone from any OEM whenever he wants. I would not assume it is a Google phone.

  2. What I’m saying is, they should just discount the Pixel 3, and then focus on making the pixel 4 better.

I believe I heard that the pixel 3A will come with a midterm snapdragon 600 or 700 chip.

I have the pixel 3, and I notice some jank, especially when it comes to using the camera among other normal apps. The Pixel 3 is rocking a Snapdragon 845!

Can’t imagine how poor the performance would be if very same pixel 3 we’re using a snapdragon 700 chip. FYI has poorer performance than the 845.

And please don’t lecture me about optimization. Well I do understand that there’s plenty of optimizations to be made. Google’s going to end up splitting their limited staff and focusing on updating an optimizing another phone. Rather than working on something more important like the pixel 4.

I got to be honest with you, I’m a bit disappointed in the pixel 3. This camera lag… Oh my gosh, sometimes it takes 10 seconds to finally open, and I’ve missed the opportunity.

I could go on and on. Like how my wife’s iPhone XR literally, and I mean literally never skips a beat. The camera opens with extremely short delay. Just like when I first had my pixel. But for some reason they both age differently. The iPhone seems to stay young over a long period of time.

I don’t know I think it might have something to do with the cache. When I clear that on my Pixel 3, it works much faster. But after a while I noticed that the cache begins to bulk up again. I’m no software engineer and I don’t understand what a lot of this is used for. Maybe the new update can incorporate an auto clear cache for the camera?

Anyways, focus on the Android operating system. I’ve been with Android for 10 years. And the only reason I’m still with Android is because it’s works best with Google apps. The iPhone is just weird when you use Google apps. And Google Assistant is just amazing. It’s just not as good on the iPhone, which I understand completely because Apple wants Siri to be a primary use of a digital assistant.

  3. there were 8 FCC applications for 8 models of devices this year google submitted

    A4RG020A to A4RG020H

does anyone remember if the nexus and pixels of the same size but with different storage amounts had different FCC applications?

  4. What a tease, Could be something as simple as either an indevelopment or past protoype that he mentions just to get the associater sub-reddits lathered into a frenzy.

  5. Ridiculous. I don’t get this about Google. I would never bring out a product that is considered mid-tier with a slower processor in which the current faster processor has been out for almost 5 months. It’s like going backwards.

There’s already a brand new Snapdragon 855. And now they want to use some Snapdragon 600 or 700 crap.

Why don’t they just discount the Pixel 3, and focus more on getting the Pixel 4 right.

There must be a whole new team here developing the pixel 3A. So much wasted resources.
