  1. I was able to reset today. All my apps and settings were retained from a backup created automatically by the phone as part of the uninstall process. All good; no more nasty Q Beta.

  2. This reads like bad information if the previous P beta program is an indicator (and I’m pretty sure every other one as well). You cannot restore from newer Android cloud backup versions to an older Android version. So the whole backing up your phone on Q will result in none of your P or older backups for that phone being restorable through cloud restore.

    >Android backups have never supported restoring from one version of Android onto a device running an earlier version. Your first Android P backup will replace your old Android O backup. **If you plan to roll back to Android O after running Android P, you should be aware that you will lose the ability to restore from your Android O backup.**

    >We suggest you only run Android P beta on a device on which you’re happy to lose all device data.

    >If you’re already running Android P beta and your device has already backed up once, you may prefer to continue to run it through till the production release rather than roll back to O and lose your data

I don’t know why someone is downvoting this; you can’t restore a backup from Q to P if you opt out of the Beta.
